Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge eating are very serious eating disorders. It is not known what causes these disorders, but it is a possibility that three key elements could play a part in the development. Genetics, meaning if there is a family history of these ailments there is an increased risk. Psychological issues like low self-esteem, and the inability to control impulsive behaviors might also be a cause. Societal pressures could be a factor. The pressure to conform to images seen on television and in magazines, and the inability to communicate with others might lead to an eating disorder.Want more?
Bulimia nervosa is characterized by an individual who Binges on a large amount of food, and then tries to rid themselves of excess calories by purging the food in unhealthy ways. Purging is done by vomiting or extreme exercise. Laxatives and diuretics will sometimes be used to rid the body of calories. Anorexia causes obsessive fixation on weight, and leads those afflicted with this disorder to try to maintain a body weight that is far below normal for their height and age. This is done with excessive exercise and sometimes the refusal to eat. Binge eating is the consuming of unusually large amounts of food. Those who suffer from this are embarrassed but unable to control the urges to binge eat.

Complications from these disorders can be severe. Anorexia and Bulimia patients may suffer from low blood pressure, dizziness and fainting, or heart and digestive problems. Binge eaters can suffer from obesity; type 2 diabetes and digestive problems. The good news is that all three disorders are treatable. With psychotherapy, and medications such as antidepressants, the prognosis for recovery is good.

Eating disorders can be quite common among young women and in general can be very serious if not successfully treated and dealt with in an orderly fashion. There are two main types of eating disorders: anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Bulimia occurs when a person eats a great amount of food and then purges or throws it up in an attempt to lose weight. All in all, both of these eating disorders can cause severe health issues such as hair loss, esophagus damage, dental mishaps, as well as organ disruptions.

If you or someone you know is suffering from an eating disorder, it is important to get the facts about this issue right away. Consider seeing a psychologist and being counseled on how to deal appropriately with this situation. It is important to become knowledgeable so that you not only communicate that you care but you can be in control when dealing with the individual.

Eating disorders have become a more serious epidemic especially in women. However, there are ways to cure and treat it.

For people that have problems such as binge eating, there are a few ways to help. One way, is to eat only when you’re hungry. Also, during your meal, eat only enough to fill you up. This way you don’t go about overeating.

Also, some people are emotional eaters. Some good ways to help with this is finding activities to help you de-stress. Maybe a game of basketball, taking a jog outside, or even just going for a walk.

If it’s a bit more serious, talk to someone about your problems. Find out what started it, the effects it had on your body, and what kind of behavioral changes occurred after the initial disorder started.

Then once you get all of that information, find yourself a specialist. Dealing with anorexia and bulimia is a very serious thing that needs attention. A specialist will help you to get on a good nutritional system so that you remain healthy.

Once this is set up, set realistic goals for yourself when it comes to eating, so that you don’t fall back into habits.Related Article : What Is Binge Eating Disorder?

Eating disorders are fairly common. It is important to note that eating disorders can occur in men even though they are typically diagnosed in women. Two of the most common eating disorders are anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Anorexia is a condition where a person eats very little to avoid weight gain. Bulimia is a condition where a person eats large amounts of food and then vomits to avoid weight gain. Both of these conditions can cause serious health problems.

Dehydration is often the first health problem that many people from anorexia and bulimia suffer. The frequent bouts of vomiting cause the body to lose the water that it needs. Over time, bulimia and anorexia can also cause problems with the heart, kidneys and liver. Most people who have died from one of these eating disorders have either died of a heart attack or malnutrition. The body needs the proper nutrients to survive and if a person who is suffering from a eating disorder does not get help quick, he or she will most likely die.

Fortunately, there are several resources and treatment options available for those who have eating disorder. However, the first step to getting treatment is to admit that there is a problem.
